bits missing are Pete & Chris, 2 guys that just want to play music to make you dance. We've become a regular thing on the Bournemouth scene, holding residencies at The Consortium and ibar, starting up Basslime and regularly getting on it at We Are Your Friends. If you'd like us to come and play at your party, chances are we're dead keen as long as we can have a couple of big bottles of strongbow. get in touch by emailing chris at chrisdowling.biz

Don’t get it twisted

I’ve got a couple of classic tunes here that I’ve been trying to get hold of for a while, thought I’d post em up and share the wealth innit.

Benga & Coki – Night (Buraka Som Sistema Remix)

Massssssive tune of last year given a bit of a remix by Spanish genre bashers Buraka Som Sistema that gives it a bit more, and makes it a lot easier to mix with other tunes. First heard it on Sinden’s Kiss show but have only just managed to get hold of a copy.

Rebound X - Rhythm & Gash

HUGE grime instrumental that’s been vocalled by everyone in the scene, even featuring on Skepta’s album. I heard it again yesterday when watching Steal This Film II, a film about piracy which had a surprising feature on the Grime model of no label, free samples, no copywrite. Except that’s not entrely the case as the recent RWD backlash against Risky, a serial bootlegger, has proved.

Dizzee Rascal – Flex (Dave Spoon Remix)

Dave Spoon adds a touch of rave to Dizzee’s latest dancefloor decimating single. I swear anything by Dizzee Rascal will get kids dancing, it’s ridiculous. This one reflects shades of another recent electro classic, and is quite easy to mix into as well.
